Data Slots: a Senseable City Lab online workshop

27 Jun 2023 | 14:00 BRT | Auditório Imre Simon-CCSL-IME-USP

We’re pleased to announce a webinar in a collaboration between the InterSCity project (https://interscity.org) and the MIT Senseable City Lab (https://senseable.mit.edu).

It’ll take place on Tuesday June 27th at 14:00 BRT in hybrid mode (Auditório Imre Simon-CCSL-IME-USP and Zoom).

The Webinar will involve both the presentation of current work by the MIT Senseable City Lab and an online game in which participants will reflect on privacy issues related to data-driven solutions in urban scenarios:

Data Slots: a Senseable City Lab online workshop

As layers of networks and digital information blanket urban space, new approaches to the study of the built environment are emerging. However, privacy concerns linger around the benefits data-driven solutions bring to cities and citizens. In this 60-minute and hands-on webinar, MIT Senseable City Lab senior researchers will lead a discussion about how to balance privacy concerns and benefits of data-driven approaches to cities, and will present current, and some not-yet-published work.

0-10: Introduction to SCL and the privacy/benefits trade-offs of data-driven solutions

11-25: Play data slots

26-30: Short discussion about the activity

31-45: SCL work

46-60: Q&A

Join the online webinar on June 27th, 2pm at https://mit.zoom.us/j/98201126985

Hope to see you all in presence (Auditório Imre Simon, CCSL-IME-USP) or online!
