Silicon Sounds explores the boundaries between music, visual arts and computer science at USP’s Maria Antonia Center
“With great joy that we from NuSom are pleased to invite you to the opening of the SONS DE SILÍIUM SOUND ART EXHIBITION on the next 13/09/2019 at the Maria Antônia University Center. This is an offshoot of the exhibition we held in April this year at Espaço das Artes at USP. The exhibition, as well as a schedule of workshops and performances, continues until December 13th. We look forward to your visit.”
“For three months, the Maria Antonia Center will be the meeting place and reflection on sound in a broad perspective with concepts from other fields of knowledge. “The exhibition reflects the research of the Interactive Practices Group where digital luthery projects, interactive installations, sound design and artistic creations are developed,” explains Cristiano Figueiró, a member of NuSOm. With works that seek the interaction between Sonic Art and Science, many of the works are structured from the process of sonification that consists on transforming data into sounds. The InterSCity project contributed to the Buzu project, an acoustic image of the data generated by SPTrans transportation systems.”
