The InterSCity project seeks outstanding post-doctoral research fellows to work on themes related to the Future Internet and Smart Cities. InterSCity is a large consortium of researchers from top Brazilian universities, working in the fields of Distributed Systems, Software Engineering, Evidence-based Public Policymaking, Data Science, and other areas related to the Future Internet and Smart Cities.
This call will select candidates interested in receiving a Fellowship from FAPESP to carry out advanced scientific research at the University of São Paulo (USP) in the city of São Paulo, Brazil.
InterSCity is seeking proactive, energetic researchers with solid knowledge and previous experience to tackle research challenges on multiple aspects of Future Internet and Smart Cities science and technology being carried out by the Software Systems research group at USP.
The fellowships will focus on one or more of the following research topics:
Candidates must have completed their doctoral degree after 2014 and have a good publication record in quality conferences and journals. Candidates must have either (1) strong background in computational/quantitative methods or (2) strong background in urban planning/policymaking with some knowledge of quantitative methods.
Selected candidates will receive a FAPESP Post-Doctoral Fellowship to work collaboratively with other members of the InterSCity project. The fellowships require full-time commitment and Pos-Doctoral fellows must reside in São Paulo.

The CV should include the list of his/her most relevant publications and recently developed software systems, clearly relating the candidate’s previous research and development experience with the Statement of Research Interest.
The Statement of Research Interest should be 3 to 4 pages and related to one or more of the above topics, as applicable.
The material will be evaluated by a committee of InterSCity researchers and selected candidates might be invited for an online interview.
